Born from a story. My own.
the rest is yours.

Before the name, before the chapters, there was a winding path of detours and dreams put on hold. Creating was the constant from girlhood on. Then stability, motherhood, and life's unexpected turns put it on the shelf, the way it does for a lot of us.
The turn back happened on a drive. Highway 1 through Big Sur, pulled over at Bixby Bridge because the light was doing something to the water that a phone camera refused to understand. That week, at a kitchen table, the first piece got made: a turquoise drop on a gold chain, an attempt to keep that color somewhere it could be touched.
Aubretta is named for my daughters, Aubrey and Loretta. They're the reason the dream came off the shelf.
Building this is partly to show them that dreams are worth following, even the ones that take the long way.
The promise was never that every piece is one of a kind. It's that every piece begins with a story: a place, a memory, a stone, a person. Some of those stories are told once, a design that only ever exists in one form, and when that piece finds its person, it moves to the Archive and never restocks. Others are worth telling again, so they become signature Aubretta designs, made to order or in small batches, and their story keeps traveling with everyone who wears one.
That's the honest shape of how the work happens: a place, a memory, a bench, and either one piece or a design worth repeating. Collections still arrive as chapters, each named for the coastline or desert that wrote it. When a new chapter opens, the email list hears first.
The names matter too. You won't find a SKU here. You'll find The Positano Necklace, The Sedona Pendant, The Cassis Earrings. The place always came first.

I create the first story. You create everything that comes afterward.
